An ADU for an Easier Future
Age in place with income; leverage your home's equity
Welcome to today’s SYMBiHOM newsletter.
The newsletter helping you build, own, and rent your Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in California.
Meeting Today's Family Needs
SYMBIHOM is at the forefront, offering innovative solutions to cater to a family’s changing needs. We recently participated in a ‘Back to School for Seniors’ series [link to sign up will come in our next newsletter - be on the lookout!] where we are helping seniors and their children understand affordable options. We are a group of professionals who are expert on real estate valuation, reverse mortgages to fund the ADU along with professionals to guide creation of trusts and wills to prevent inheritance tax as well as referrals to services for ongoing care.
Symbihom offers flexible living spaces with eco-friendly designs that ensure comfort and sustainability. Explore new ways to create a harmonious home environment for you and your loved ones. SYMBIHOM is dedicated to helping families find a perfect solution.
Longevity poses many considerations as outlined by the Stanford The Longevity Project. Perhaps you or your parent fit into one of these following categories.
Aging in Place with Income: There is opportunity to have SYMBiHOM build our signature accessible ADU for you to simplify environment to then enjoy brand new sustainable products that will last their lifetime while leasing their home or ADU. Several clients leverage their home to create significant cashflow, freeing themselves from the cares of the home giving them the ability to travel. Or Build the ADU and lease it to an educator employed in their neighborhood.
Multi-Generational Living: Harvard Study of Adult Development One of the most extensive longitudinal studies globally found that close relationships best predict longevity and delay mental and physical decline. Creating a safe, accessible living unit for aging parents, either in their home or their child's, is increasingly a solution for families.
Aging in Place with a Caregiver: Assisted care facilities are often costly, making them less accessible compared to using a reverse mortgage to fund an ADU. Homeowners can build an attached ADU with a bathroom and kitchen for a caregiver, who can be available as needed. Planning ahead allows the ADU to serve as a 'visitor suite' until in-home care is required.
Please let us know how we can help you or someone you know with family planning. We will be back with more information on our next ‘Back to School for Seniors’ event so you have opportunity to join us.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
